Privacy Policy
Last updated [DATE]
This policy explains what VYLT collects when you rent a charger or partner with us as a venue, how that information is used, and the choices you have.
Draft — not yet reviewed. This document is a starting template. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and the bracketed fields still need real values. Have counsel review it before relying on it.
1. Who we are
VYLT (“VYLT”, “we”, “us”) operates a network of portable phone-charger stations placed in restaurants, bars, hotels, gyms and other public venues. The data controller is [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS].
2. Information we collect
- Payment information. Rentals are processed by our payment provider, [PAYMENT PROCESSOR]. We receive a confirmation and the last four digits of the card. We never receive or store full card numbers.
- Rental records. Which station a charger was taken from and returned to, and the start and end time of the session.
- Contact details. If you email us, or submit the venue enquiry form, we keep your name, business name, email address and anything else you choose to send.
- Station and device diagnostics. Operational data from the stations themselves, such as slot occupancy, battery health and connectivity status.
We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your phone number or track your location once a charger leaves a station.
3. How we use it
- To start, run and close out a rental, and to charge the correct amount.
- To keep stations stocked and working, and to schedule service visits.
- To respond to support requests and venue enquiries.
- To detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the network.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with our payment processor, the service providers who host and support our systems, and with authorities where the law requires it. Venue partners receive aggregate statistics about their own station — rental counts, uptime and payouts — never information about an individual renter.
5. Retention
Rental records are kept for [RETENTION PERIOD] to support billing, disputes and accounting requirements, then deleted or anonymized. Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting relationship.
6. Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of your personal information, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to object to certain uses. Email privacy@vylt.com and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
7. Cookies
This website uses only the cookies needed to serve and secure the pages. [Update this section if you add analytics or advertising tools.]
8. Children
The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above, and where the law requires it we will give you more direct notice.
